The Classic Period of the Maya is during these 600 years.  The Maya refined the long-count calender and developed a more advanced written language.  All the Maya buildings that one can see now were built during this period.

Aztecs found the city of Tenochtitlan on a marshy island in Lake Texcoco, which started the rise of Aztec glory in Mexico.
